MANTIS
Force measuring arm designed for stiffness tests and material characterization, enabling the acquisition of F/d, d/F, F/t, and d/t curves for materials and components. The actuation speed, maximum force to be applied, and test duration can be programmed.
The system is constructed with durable and resistant materials.
The movement of both axes (vertical and horizontal) is manually operated using cranks.
The control system is robust and flexible, allowing for easy configuration and execution of tests.
Entire assembly is joined by brackets and screws, providing the machine with configurational versatility for future modifications.
The connection with the customer’s seat frames is made through a machined insert on the two horizontal profiles.
The actuator system consists of a servo motor and an actuator with a stroke of 150 mm, capable of exerting a maximum force of 1000 N. The ball joint allows for varying the tilt angle of the actuator.
The control system consists, on one hand, of an IPC (Industrial Personal Computer) to control the system and, on the other hand, a Microsoft Surface Tablet that serves as the interface. The IPC is integrated into a briefcase, which has a series of connectors that allow both motor control and reading values from the load cell and wire sensor. It also has USB, HDMI, and Ethernet connectors to communicate with the IPC.
